Visiting friends

It was almost a condition with Jakbo on going to North Carolina that he was able to go and see Sierra and Matthew. Although the kids were completely worn out from Christmas and the sickies that were brought on by such a severe change in climate, they had a blast and our trip would bot have been the same had we not been able to see them again.

I have no idea what Hazel was doing here but it was cute.

At Tim and Becky's. The kids were DONE so to have a bit of adult talk time we set them up to watch a movie. It only lasted a minute but its a minute more than we had.

Christmas at Granny's

Christmas morning at my Mom's is also a tradition. I guess she was never able to let go of the fact that Santa doesn't visit there anymore. (And she says she won't have empty nest syndrome when my brother graduates. HA!!!) Here is Jakob totally psyched about his soda bottle science experiment kit he got.
Hazel listening to her singing toothbrush. Of course that was after she talked on it like a phone for a few minutes.

Mike rocking Hazel's boas

Alright Hazel it's your turn now.

Christmas Eve Cont.

Hazel waiting "patiently" for her next present while CaLeb is trying out his new video camera.
Jakob and Hazel checking out what each other's presents are. Jakob was official present destributor again this year and would get a bit frustrated if Hazel wasn't keeping up with him. :)
Hazel peeking into her BIG box of twin dolls. Later to be referred to as the "Chucky Dolls". They are really freaky but Hazel LOVES them.
Jakob with his cookies and letter to Santa telling him he hopes he has a good night and thanking him for the presents he will leave.

Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve was pleasantly routine with the evening starting off with Candlelight service. Jakob was in a small reader's theatre play(he was a sheep). It was absolutely hilarious as most of the actors had not read through the script until that evening. CaLeb, in true form hammed it up in his own way and completely stole the show. I wanted to video it but the tapes were left at home (of course). I have a bit on my camera but it's really shaky as I was laughing so hard. The service ended with the traditional lighting of the candles which as you can see Hazel was thrilled with!
After service we went back to Grandma's to open gifts from the family and to enjoy some really figure UNfriendly food. Reba came over to give her gifts which as you can see the kids LOVED!! She is the greatest!!

Christmas with Grandma Tracey

So our first stop on our whilrwind of adventures in North Carolina during Christmas was Mike's Mom's House. She had moved out to NC late this summer and we were all just too close not to get together for some Christmas fun. Here are some pictures from our get together.

All or nothin I guess

So I guess I just don't do this blogging thing too well since its been almost a month since my last post. Life has been very hectic with visiting family in North Carolina, starting homeschool, realizing and learning the best (or better way to teach Jakob), and dealing with a toddler who has been practicing VERY HARD at being two. Needless to say my hands have been full. But here are a few posts on how our Christmas went:

Here are the kids (well Jakob and my sometimes rental children, the Prileaou's) outside Jakob's former school. It was the night of their Christmas performance and it was beautiful! Plus the kids were so darn cute!
